Our Story

OUR ROOTS

The Story of Peterson Winery

Located in the heart of Sonoma County’s Dry Creek Valley, Peterson Winery is the sum of many parts — our history, the team, our winemaking philosophy, our estate vineyard and the sustainable practices that weave through every decision in the vineyard and beyond.

History

With a reverence for sustainable farming and a desire to produce wines that capture the essence of vintage and vineyard, Fred Peterson founded his eponymous winery in 1987.

Our Team

We are a small but mighty team whose dedication comes through in every Peterson wine.

Philosophy

We refer to our winemaking approach as Zero Manipulation, a philosophy of less is more.

Vineyards

Our Bradford Mountain Estate Vineyard, located on the western edge of Dry Creek Valley, produces grapes with concentrated flavors threaded with a subtle mineral essence.

Sustainability

Fred Peterson’s ardent belief that we are stewards of the land assures the estate vineyard is sustainable farmed, and our sustainable practices go beyond the vineyard, too.
