WHERE OUR WINES BEGIN

Bradford Mountain Estate Vineyard

Overlooking the western edge of Dry Creek Valley, our sustainable, dry-farmed Bradford Mountain Estate Vineyard spans 16 acres on the top of a 1264-foot peak. Fred Peterson cleared this land and planted his estate vineyard in the 1980s, and it’s where he built his home.

The vistas from our vineyard are awe-inspiring, and these high-elevation grapes in turn produce awe-inspiring wines. The well-drained, red-clay soil, combined with sunny days and cool nights, produce small, intensely flavored grapes.

For Fred, growing the perfect wine grape and producing a delicious wine is all about balance. Balance starts in the vineyards, where he tries to achieve a balance from bud break in the spring until the grapes are picked in the fall. Fred balances the canopy, the crop load, the sun exposure, the hang time and a few hundred other details that challenge every vineyard manager every year, including Fred.
